Professional biography
Assistant Professor Carmel Tepper is the Academic Assessment Lead for Bond University Medical Program, responsible for assessment governance, strategy, implementation, and faculty development across five years of the Medical Program. Carmel has extensive experience in use of Assessment technologies, driving the implementation of Osler ePortfolio for Workplace Based Assessments and ExamSoft for computer-based testing in written examinations across all years of the Medical Program.
Carmel is a strong advocate for robust assessment that is fair to all students and aligned to the curriculum outcomes. She has a special interest in creating assessment blueprints aligned to learning outcomes, exam item analysis and developing academic question writing skills.
Carmel has presented at conferences around the world, raising Bond Medical Program’s profile as global leaders in the application of innovative assessment technologies. Invitations to share her expertise in assessment blueprinting, design, and quality assurance processes at conferences in the USA, UAE, UK, Canada and to an international audience online have consolidated her reputation as a leader in assessment.
Carmel also has 25 years of clinical experience as a physiotherapist, working in both private practice and hospitals, nationally and internationally. Notable physiotherapy career highlights include working in Canada as Head of a Physiotherapy Department in an Alberta country hospital and being the team physiotherapist for the Cork Dolphin rugby team in Ireland.
