This subject provides students with the opportunity to bring their Quantitative Mathematics skills up to a standard that is required for future Business subjects at Bond University. It also provides new material that is essential to the understanding of business-related problems. Topics that are covered in this subject include algebraic expressions; formulating and solving linear equations and inequalities from word problems; properties of functions (including straight line, quadratic, exponential and logarithmic).
|Faculty||Bond Business School|
1. Recognise and manipulate a variety of linear and non-linear algebraic expressions. 2. Solve simple and complex algebraic equations, including linear, quadratic, hyperbolic, exponential and logarithmic types. 3. Analyse and model word-problems mathematically using systematic processes. 4. Evaluate and solve word-problems using algebraic, graphical and differential calculus techniques. 5. Interpret solutions in the context of the problem. 6. Demonstrate clear mathematical working and communication of results in written form. 7. Utilise appropriate technology to solve problems and present solutions.
Must be admitted into an Affiliated Program.
This subject is not available as a general elective. To be eligible for enrolment, the subject must be specified in the students’ program structure.
