Sunday, August 17, is a day to mark in the diary for anyone wanting to bring their career ambitions to life. Bond University will welcome prospective students, their families, friends and the wider Gold Coast community to enjoy the University’s Open Day festivities from 10am to 3pm.
Open Day provides visitors the opportunity to talk to current students, graduates, staff, academics and professionals to plan their ideal career path and see why Bond is Australia’s highest rated University in the 2008 Good Universities Guide.
Campus tours, Faculty presentations and all-day live entertainment will be just some of the fun on offer to help prospective students gain an insight into the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate courses and vibrant student life.
A scavenger hunt will keep the little ones happy while parents are invited to mingle at the Parents of Bond wine and cheese bar and learn about the Bond University family from a different perspective.
Bond University Vice-Chancellor Professor Robert Stable looks forward to showcasing the University to the wider community.
"The Bond community is a unique mix of cultures, interests and talents and Open Day provides prospective students the opportunity to witness this first hand," he said.
Bond University Student Council President Julien du Vergier agrees with Professor Stable saying that Bond is unlike any other university.
"It’s the people here and the sense of belonging, combined with the beautiful campus and world class facilities, that make Bond, in my opinion, a great university to begin your studies," he said.
"Come and see what Bond has to offer, meet our students and teachers and see whether Bond is the place for you," he said.
Julien also suggests that prospective students prepare before the Open Day to make the most out of their experience.
"It’s a good idea to have a look online to see what courses might interest you before Open Day. Then on the day you can make sure you have questions to ask and schedule enough time to talk to people from those Faculties," he said.
