Bond University's Chancellor, Dr Helen Nugent AO, today announced that the University Council had unanimously agreed to extend the term of the current Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Tim Brailsford.
Professor Brailsford’s contract has been extended until 2022.
The Chancellor Dr Helen Nugent AO commented: “Under Professor Brailsford’s outstanding leadership the University has gone from strength to strength.”
“In a rapidly changing higher education environment, both in Australia and globally, Bond is very well placed. This is in no small way due to the leadership of Professor Brailsford.”
“Our unremitting focus on the quality of education and the student experience has served us well. Professor Brailsford has strengthened that focus, which is recognised not just by students but also by the broader community.”
Professor Brailsford, whose first term commenced in 2012, said he was very pleased to accept the extension and to continue at Bond.
"I am extremely grateful to the University Council and wider Bond community for the faith they have put in me," he said.
He commented that the University would not deviate from its current strategy.
"I do not see Bond changing its direction or strategy. Our focus is on students and the quality of their learning, overall experience and graduate outcomes.”
“In all these areas we excel and while we will experience modest growth over the next few years, we will not grow so rapidly or to such a size that we impact on the quality of the student experience. Our students come first.”
Professor Brailsford is Bond University’s seventh Vice-Chancellor and by the end of his new term, he will be its longest serving Vice-Chancellor.
