Join the Faculty of Health Sciences & Medicine in a pivotal role supporting students as they prepare for professional placements. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Student Affairs & Service Quality, the HSM Compliance Officer is responsible for managing and overseeing student compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and university requirements, ensuring students are placement-ready and supported throughout their programs.

 

The main responsibilities for this role include:

  • Acting as the primary contact for students, staff, and external partners regarding compliance matters.

  • Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on student compliance using established policies and procedures.

  • Receiving, triaging, and escalating compliance issues where required.

  • Maintaining accurate and confidential compliance records, documentation, and databases.

  • Using software systems to produce reports, support quality assurance, and provide training to staff and students.

  • Working collaboratively with placement teams to ensure smooth processes that support student success.

About the person

We are seeking a proactive, detail-focused professional who can manage complex compliance requirements with confidence while building positive working relationships across the Faculty.

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Relevant qualification in health sciences, health administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience in health professional compliance, clinical coordination, or student placement administration within healthcare or higher education settings.

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply regulatory frameworks, professional standards, and institutional policies to ensure compliance and quality assurance.

  • Proven experience managing fitness-to-practice or similar risk-based processes, including investigating concerns, triaging matters, and mitigating risk while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgement.

  • Strong administrative and governance capability, with excellent organisational skills and a high level of accuracy in managing sensitive and confidential information.

  • Advanced digital proficiency, including strong Microsoft Office skills and experience using university or health-sector systems (such as student placement platforms) to support compliance and operational efficiency.

  • Experience rapidly learning and implementing new systems and technologies, including training and supporting staff to ensure effective adoption.

  • Ability to work independently in a high-volume environment while contributing positively to team outcomes and continuous improvement.

Salary details

The salary for the position will commence at $87,948.96 plus 12% superannuation per annum.
