Description
Professional Practice provides students the opportunity in an authentic learning environment to develop both their skills for the real world of the construction industry.
The subject encourages students to combine self-analysis and reflective learning skills with professional methodologies to expand their analytic and strategic thinking capabilities. It also provides practical experience for students to appreciate the requirements of industrial practice and develop their communication skills to improve their ‘work readiness’.
Students will complete a 12-week Workshop Program on campus that offers students a mix of classroom learning and practical experiences incorporating skills sessions, industry guest involvement and site inspections.

- Identify appropriate work opportunities in the construction industry and effectively promote themselves as a desirable potential employee.
- Instinctively demonstrate the behaviour required of a graduate employee in the workplace.
- Communicate effectively with others in the workplace and utilise interpersonal skills to become a fully productive member of a team.
- Review their personal strengths and weaknesses, identify necessary adjustments and implement them to improve their employability.
