In this subject, you will learn about major issues, topics, theories, and practices in contemporary workplace communication from both an employee and a managerial perspective. The subject aims to help you understand how workplace communication functions so that you can make your own strategic communication choices. You will learn about major approaches to studying workplace communication, how employees are socialised, processes for making decisions, managing conflict and change, processes of emotion at work, and handling workplace diversity. Throughout the subject, you will analyse various organisational communication problems and make recommendations for change.
