The Bond TESOL Difference

Our TESOL programs offer something different. Hear from our TESOL students, graduates & academics as to what they believe makes our program unique.

"I chose to study the Graduate Certificate in TESOL program at Bond because it had the most relevance to my interests and best suited my career goal of becoming an English as a Second Language teacher. I was encouraged to apply upon hearing Bond’s excellent reputation and receiving positive feedback from my friends who are past students. They described the campus as clean and spacious and told me about the many facilities that are accessible to students.

My favourite aspect of studying the Graduate Certificate in TESOL program was the cultural diversity of the students and professors. I was able to meet individuals from all over the world who shared their passion for language and culture, which allowed me to acquire a broader range of knowledge as a language teacher. My experience at Bond University undeniably exceeded all of my expectations. The campus was very well maintained and car parking was easily accessible. I continued to be strongly motivated and engaged throughout the course as classes were highly interactive and enjoyable. I am grateful to have developed many positive relationships with classmates and professors, which will continue to flourish throughout our future endeavours.

I felt incredibly supported throughout my time at Bond, as the professors showed a genuine sense of compassion towards my progress throughout the course. The professors were able to determine the strengths and weaknesses of each student and had individualised teaching methods to assist us in reaching our learning potential. While studying the Graduate Certificate of TESOL program, I had the opportunity to participate in a teaching practicum at the Bond University College, where I observed and delivered English lessons to students of mixed nationalities. This practicum allowed me to work closely with the supervising teachers and gain real-world experience teaching English as a Second Language.

The advice that I would pass along to anyone looking to study TESOL is to communicate any time constraints you face with the professors. The professors are very flexible and are understanding of your work schedule and daily life. They are always available to assist with assessment, so you don't have to be nervous! There are many benefits of studying TESOL. Mainly, you have qualification to teach English as a Second Language to non-English speakers anywhere in the world, whether you dream of teaching English here in Australia or travelling internationally.

Compared to some other universities, the class sizes were significantly smaller, which increased the opportunity to collaborate closely with classmates and professors. The teaching staff and administration team continued to offer their best efforts to ensure each student was made to feel welcome. From my very first lesson through to the last, I felt a sense of pride to belong to the Bond community."

"I will never forget my first visit at Bond when I got absolutely impressed by the beauty of campus, calm and studious environment and friendliness of the staff. I first started my job at Bond University as a French teacher where I realized the difference of the quality of teaching, resources and great skills of staff and lecturers. It made me feel like experiencing Bond as a student too which was a great decision. As a student, I enjoy the accessibility of all resources, small classes, friendly ambiance, and all the facilities provided for students such as MLC, Gym, Pool, etc.

I absolutely love the multiculturality of Bond University. Students and staff from across the world are one of the best aspects of Bond which actually educates cultural awareness and equal respect towards all cultures across the world.  The friendly and skilful staff is another distinct feature of Bond which provides friendly and stress-free ambiance in the classroom and increases the productivity. The gym and MLC are fantastic too.

Bond helped to prepare me for my current role, as all the subjects I undertook in the Graduate Certificate in TESOL taught me the essential skills for effective teaching. The difference between Bond and other Universities include: the stunning environment, small classes, friendly and staff, great resources and their accessibility, great facilities such as gym, MLC, etc.

I would definitely recommend studying at Bond, because of my unforgettable experience there (all the reasons mentioned above) plus its high ranking in Australia."
