Melanie Forbes

Assistant Professor-Clinical Practice Domain Lead

Level 2, Building 5, Faculty of Health Sciences & Medicine, Bond University

Professional biography

Since graduating as a medical practitioner from the University of Cape Town in South Africa I have gained clinical experience across various healthcare systems. Alongside my clinical practice, I have developed strong skills as a small group facilitator, mentor, and leader through active participation in several volunteer programs. Since joining Bond University in 2014 I have contributed to the medical program in various roles providing input into curriculum design, development and evaluation, faculty development, medical education research, and small group teaching.

I was proud to complete the Master of Healthcare Innovations at Bond University in 2024, further enhancing my ability to critically evaluate contemporary challenges in health, education, and research practices and explore innovative approaches to create more effective, efficient, and sustainable health systems.

As the current Clinical Practice Domain Lead, I work closely with the clinical team to create and coordinate innovative learning resources and foster a safe and supportive learning environment. I am dedicated to cultivating capable, compassionate, and committed future healthcare practitioners who are equipped to meet the challenges of modern medicine.
