AI in education - Empowering tomorrow's educators
Bond University is proud to support the Gold Coast Secondary Principals Alliance by offering an exclusive professional development series in 2025. Designed specifically for secondary educators, these sessions delve into the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in education.
UPCOMING SESSION: AI for Teaching Quality and Efficiency
Every teacher knows the reality of spending hours on repetitive communication tasks, resource creation, and assessment, leaving insufficient time for the meaningful student interactions that drive genuine learning. This workshop demonstrates how artificial intelligence can reclaim that time, enhancing productivity while simultaneously improving teaching quality and student engagement.
Building on cognitive science principles from our previous professional learning sessions, we explore how AI helps educators implement evidence-based practices more efficiently. Grounded in the Australian Framework for Generative AI in Schools and Education Queensland policy contexts, participants will develop skills in using AI to create engaging learning resources, support differentiated learning for diverse student needs, and design assessments that genuinely align with learning objectives.
Through hands-on practice with generative AI platforms, educators will create actual classroom resources while experiencing immediate productivity gains. The session addresses critical pain points including constructive alignment, rubric design, and differentiated explanations that maintain cognitive demand. Participants will practice generating personalised learning supports while dramatically reducing workload burden.
Participants will leave with immediately applicable prompt templates, concrete integration strategies, and renewed capacity for the high-value teaching activities that research identifies as essential for student learning outcomes. This session transforms AI from an abstract concept into a tool that supports both teaching excellence and professional sustainability
The session will be led by Moraig Vuurman (Teaching and Learning Enhancement Coordinator) and support by the staff of the Office of Learning and Teaching.
