Casual room bookings

Casual room bookings allow students and staff to book available teaching spaces on campus for non-teaching activities such as group study or meetings.

All casual room bookings are made using Reserve, Bond University’s online room booking system.

Before you book

Please read the information below before making a booking. These guidelines help ensure fair access and appropriate use of teaching spaces across campus.

Who can book

  • Current Bond University students and staff may make casual room bookings.
  • The person making the booking is considered the organiser and is responsible for the booking.
  • Bookings must not be made on behalf of another student or staff member.

What spaces can be booked

  • Casual room bookings apply to general teaching spaces only.
  • Meeting rooms, boardrooms, and specialist spaces may require separate approval or alternative booking processes.
  • If you need a space that is not available through Reserve, contact the relevant area listed at the bottom of this page.

How to make a casual room booking

1) Sign in to the Casual Room Booking system (Reserve) using your Bond SSO and select Student or Staff access.

Booking options

Important booking principles

  • Booking a casual teaching space must be made online via the Casual Room Booking (Reserve) system.
  • Bookings can only be made from Bond Week of the current semester.
  • Teaching and timetabled classes take priority over all casual bookings.
  • Rooms should only be booked for confirmed activities, not as placeholders.
  • Bookings requiring approval are not valid until confirmation has been received by email.
  • Casual room bookings may be changed or cancelled if teaching requirements arise.

Group size and events

  • Casual room bookings are for up to 15 people.
  • Bookings for more than 15 people are classified as an event and must be submitted via the Student Event Form.

Looking for a study space?

Students can book study spaces for individual quiet time or group collaboration. The Library offers bookable individual and group study rooms in the Main Library, Law Library and Multimedia Learning Centre. These spaces are managed separately and are not booked through the Casual Room Booking (Reserve) system.
