2017 Interdisciplinary Colloquium on Sport - Community Sport; Values, Perspectives and Challenges
The Interdisciplinary Colloquium is an event that has been run over the past 6 years through the Centre for Commercial Law at Bond University.
Scholars and industry representatives attend from a range of disciplines to discuss sports-related topics. It is truly interdisciplinary and has resulted in a number of research clusters and collaborations being established.
Through the generous support of the Bond University Centre for Commercial Law, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Health Sciences & Medicine, Bond University will once again be host to the Interdisciplinary Colloquium on Sport in 2017.
This event will commence with a Welcome Reception on Thursday, 16 February 2017 at Bond University, and the Colloquium to take place on Friday, 17 February 2017.
Keynote addresses by Professor Alison Doherty, Faculty of Health Sciences, Western University Ontario, Canada and Keith Binnie, General Counsel, New Zealand Rugby Union.
This year's colloquium is focused on community sport; values, perspectives and challenges, and will include presentations around the following themes:
- Community sport as a tool for social inclusion, peace and diplomacy
- Community sport as a pathway to high performance success
- Capacity and capability of community sporting organisations
- Regulation and governance of community sporting organisations
- Issues in the management of community sport and events

Abstract acceptance notification will be provided by 16 January 2017
Preliminary program will be released on 23 January 2017
Eligible papers will be invited for peer review and publication.
