Recycling Week showcase extended!

The Library’s exhibition of recycling activities happening on campus is continuing for another week, so there are now more days to discover what recycling opportunities are available.

Do you have some old sunglasses or prescription glasses that you no longer need or use?

Drop them into the Lions Club glasses bin in the Main Library and support the Lions Recycle for Sight Australia Program.

"The Australian program has been operating for over 26 years and is part of the Lions Clubs International Worldwide Eyeglass Recycling Program, headquartered in Queensland and operating throughout Australia and overseas.
The program has delivered over 7 million pair of refurbished quality spectacles to men, women and children in need in Africa, the Indian Sub- continent, East Asia, and the countries of the Pacific Rim and Southern Asia and Oceania.
In the past 10 years several members of the Lions’ Marine Branch have been able to use their oceangoing yachts to reach and test the eyesight of villagers living in remote locations and deliver spectacles to them." -- Source: https://lionsclubs.org.au/our-impact/recycle-for-sight-australia/

Did you know that the Library’s recycling services for old batteries and worn-out pens and highlighters are available all semester? Help keep hazardous materials out of landfills and make sure they are safely recycled by supporting these services.
