The global property industry is affected by many challenges including fluctuating economic conditions, innovations in finance, new regulations, and approaches to sustainability. Skilled professionals are required in all areas of real estate development, property valuation, investment, and management.

This degree will provide you with the high-level skills required to establish leadership within the property industry and can be applied across global real estate markets. Graduates of this program will be able to offer expert, specialised cognitive and technical skills to complex property markets which can be applied across a range of industries, both in Australia and internationally.

Portfolio Management

A real estate portfolio manager is responsible for taking advantages of opportunities in the property market.

Certified property valuer

Certified property valuers estimate property or land values for sale or rental purposes, estimate the value of land and the buildings on the land before it is redeveloped and estimate the cost of rebuilding for insurance purposes.

Property valuer

Property valuers are responsible for assessing the value of residential, industrial, or commercial properties. Property valuers may also be assessors, who value properties for government tax purposes. 
These roles in Australia are typically advertised between $90k and $120k.

Valuation manager

Leadership of valuation team, alongside development and implementation of strategic projects and planning. Valuations manager roles in Australia are typically advertised between $120k and $130k according to Seek (2021).

Professional accreditation

Professional accreditation

The Master of Valuation and Property Development is professionally recognised by nationally and internationally by leading industry bodies including Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Australian Property Institute (API), and Valuers Registration Board Queensland (VRBQ).

Students with a related undergraduate degree will qualify for registration with the Australian Property Institute as a Certified Practising Valuer with the Valuers Registration Board of Queensland, and New South Wales Fair Trading (conditional on meeting professional practice requirements).

Students with a related undergraduate degree who complete the relevant Property Valuation subjects as electives will qualify for registration with the Australian Property Institute as a Certified Practising Valuer with the Valuers Registration Board of Queensland.
