SPMT71-201: Evidence Based Project in Sport Management

Description

This subject is meant as an alternative for students who are already employed in the sport industry and who, therefore, do not need or wish to undertake a professional placement in the subject, Sport Management Professional Preparation. Evidence-Based Project in Sport Management provides students the opportunity to select a contentious, current and controversial topic in sport management and provide a written, evidenced-based critical analysis of the issue which either supports or refutes the matter under discussion. On successful completion of this project, students should have developed conceptual skills in drawing together knowledge and data to articulate a point of view based on the evidence at hand. Students will be expected to produce a report that meets appropriate professional and academic standards. Students will also be required to present the project and orally defend the position they have adopted.
