Description
Using the procedures taught in Foundations of Counselling and other relevant subjects, students will collect data on a selected research and clinical issue with general relevance to the broader field of counselling. The research may be of survey, intervention or laboratory type, and may include group and/or individual research designs.

Learning outcomes
1. To develop skills in investigating and analysing research data pertaining to a client-based issue in Counselling by conducting an in-depth literature review.
2. To develop skills in organising and reporting on key research findings by reviewing data according to key criteria and summarising key findings in a review table.
3. To develop skills in developing appropriate clinical tools based on evidence acquired via academic research literature.
4. To develop effective written communication skills as these apply to professional practice in Counselling.
