Associate Professor Shanthi Sarma is a clinical psychiatrist and the Director of ECT and Neurostimulation at the Gold Coast Health Service as well as a clinical discipline lead for Mental health at Bond University. She is a fellow of Psychiatry of Old Age, has a clinical and academic interest in neurostimulation and is passionate about teaching. She is involved in ECT, TMS and ketamine research. She chairs the Queensland ECT committee and is an executive committee member of the RANZCP Section of ECT and Neurostimulation. She provides ECT training for doctors and nurses all around Queensland and was involved in the production of a series of freely available educational videos about ECT for consumers, carers and clinicians which have had over 90 000 views on YouTube.
