Our professional and academic microcredential courses in mediation are designed for lawyers and other professionals seeking the knowledge, skills and strategies to conduct mediation and dispute resolution. Delivered by highly experienced and accredited instructors, courses are offered three times a year and delivered online for a flexible and accelerated pathway to National Mediation Accreditation.
Professional courses (not for academic credit)
These short microcredential courses are designed to suit busy professionals who are seeking professional development in mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution, or want to become a nationally accredited mediator through completion of both courses. Each course is delivered via a 5 or 2 day online workshop.

Mediation Training 1: Process and Skills
Duration: 5 days
Cost: $2970 (including GST)
Location: Online (via Zoom)Mediation Training 1: Process and Skills provides the essential knowledge and skills for mediators and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners.
You will acquire and apply knowledge and skills about the facilitative model of mediation and the role and function of mediators, support persons and other professionals. As you explore and interrogate ethical and professional obligations as they apply to mediators and family dispute resolution practitioners, you will cover a variety of topics including cross-cultural issues, power, emotion, impartiality, violence, current law, ethics and professionalism.
Explored through workshop modules, practical role-plays, and case studies, you will then have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills in simulated mediation role-plays with the support of professional and experienced coaches.

Mediation Training 2: Practice and Assessment

Mediation Training 2: Practice and Assessment builds on and consolidates the foundational knowledge and skills you will have acquired in Mediation Training 1: Process and Skills. This course involves the practical application of knowledge and skills within the context of facilitative mediation through intensive practice with feedback from coaches, followed by an assessable online mediation simulation.

Academic courses (for credit)
These 12-week microcredential courses are components of the Master of Laws in Family Dispute Resolution and suited to both law and non-law graduates who are considering pursuing a postgraduate qualification. You will participate in the professional course workshop (outlined above) and then explore and critically examine the ethical and professional obligations of mediator and professional dispute resolution practitioners, through a research paper and journal. Credits earned from successful completion of these courses can be attributed towards the Master of Laws in Family Dispute Resolution.

Location: Online (via Zoom)Mediation and Dispute Resolution Practice 1 is designed to equip professionals with the foundational knowledge and skills essential to be eligible to apply to become a nationally accredited mediator and/or a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.
You will learn about the facilitative model of mediation and the role and function of mediators, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners, support persons and other professionals. You will explore and interrogate the ethical and professional obligations of mediators and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners, together with the challenges that they face in practice.
This course is a component of the Bond University Graduate Certificate in Family Dispute Resolution and the Master of Laws in Family Dispute Resolution and provides 10 Bond credit points.

This subject offers opportunities for scholarly reflection on dispute resolution practice. This course will allow you to practically apply advanced knowledge and skills within the context of facilitative mediation through simulated roleplays.
This course is a component of the Bond University Graduate Certificate in Family Dispute Resolution and the Master of Laws in Family Dispute Resolution and provides 10 Bond credit points.
