Description
Family Law is an elective subject in undergraduate programs offered by the Faculty of Law. Students enrolled in this subject will learn about the foundations of family law in Australia: validity of marriage, nullity of marriage, divorce, children, child support, child maintenance, maintenance, division of property, and injunctive relief. Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to demonstrate their understanding of these aspects of Australian family law and their ability to engage in legal reasoning by discussing and solving complex legal problems orally and in writing.

Learning outcomes
1. Understand and identify family law issues. 2. Apply principles of family law to the facts of given case scenarios. 3. Analyse, critique and evaluate the effectiveness of family law.
