You will explore the development of the press, film, radio, television, online and digital industries in Australia and how they sit within a global context. You will examine media institutions in the context of rapid change brought about by digital transformation, social media impacts, future trends, media entrepreneurship, funding and business models, and how regulatory, cultural and professional frameworks respond to these changes. There is a special focus on the 'Australianess' of our media and its media products. A range of contemporary issues are explored in relation to the rapid and radical changes taking place nationally and internationally in the communication and media industries, propelled by digital imperatives.
