Offers a unique perspective into conducting business in a foreign market. This tour of one of Australia’s major trading partners will provide direct exposure to the challenges and opportunities of working in the global business environment. Utilising site visits, industry and government speakers and practical exercises, you will develop executive-level insights into international business relations. You are expected to integrate your executive experience, theoretical knowledge, and insights from the study tour to develop a business case supporting or rejecting the international expansion of an Australian business.

Policy on late submission and extensions
A late penalty will be applied to all overdue assessment tasks unless an extension is granted by the subject coordinator. The standard penalty will be 10% of marks awarded to that assessment per day late with no assessment to be accepted seven days after the due date. Where a student is granted an extension, the penalty of 10% per day late starts from the new due date.
Policy on plagiarism
University’s Academic Integrity Policy defines plagiarism as the act of misrepresenting as one’s own original work: another’s ideas, interpretations, words, or creative works; and/or one’s own previous ideas, interpretations, words, or creative work without acknowledging that it was used previously (i.e., self-plagiarism). The University considers the act of plagiarising to be a breach of the Student Conduct Code and, therefore, subject to the Discipline Regulations which provide for a range of penalties including the reduction of marks or grades, fines and suspension from the University.
Feedback on assessment
Feedback on assessment will be provided to students within two weeks of the assessment submission due date, as per the Assessment Policy.

A peer-evaluation system will be used in this subject to help determine the individual marks for all group assessments. As part of the requirements for Business School quality accreditation, the Bond Business School employs an evaluation process to measure and document student assessment as evidence of the extent to which program and subject learning outcomes are achieved. An introduction to the fundamental aspects of the Chinese economy, including language, cultural history, and specific aspects of international business theory related to site visits. Students will also begin capturing expectations Drawing on theory from other EMBA classes and your executive experience, you will also begin capturing assumptions and expectations that will form the basis for your critical reflections during and after the tour.
You are expected to act as ambassadors of the University at all times during the study tour. Student-led briefings will be conducted prior to each site visits and debriefs (including facilitated group discussions) will be done afterwards. Instructor-led discussions will be conducted throughout the day as permitted by the schedule and travel restrictions. Reflections and presentation preparation are to be done in the evenings and during travel.
