Description
Design Studio is a 40 credit point subject allowing students to develop a customised solution in response to a real-world issue within the local community. Throughout a semester-long applied project, students work full-time in interdisciplinary teams applying the design thinking tools, methods and mindsets acquired within previous subjects whilst collaborating with expert coaches, mentors and a team of interdisciplinary educators. Focal elements of the subject include developing a shared understanding through empathising with the diverse positions and interests of key stakeholders, considering multiple perspectives, generating and exploring creative ideas, making and learning from mistakes, questioning implications and adaptively planning for the implementation of validated solutions.
