The GEMS Scholarship has been developed to support new undergraduate students enrolling at Bond University from GEMS schools in the Middle East and North Africa region. The GEMS Scholarship will be awarded to students who meet the stated selection criteria which includes evidence of leadership and/or community achievements.  

The GEMS Scholarship is available to new students enrolling in a full time Bachelor degree at Bond University.

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be completing/have completed high school at a GEMS school.
  • Have submitted the Bond University Online Application Form to apply for chosen program. Students applying for the Bond Medical Program are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Have strong academic achievements and have contributed to the community, whatever form that might take.
  • Evidence of your leadership, initiative, and service to your community. Please use the Summary of Achievements template to present this evidence and submit this along with your completed scholarship application form.
  • Complete and submit the International Student Scholarship Application Form (PDF) by the scholarship application closing date.
  • Not have already commenced undergraduate or postgraduate studies at Bond University.
  • Recipients of the bursary are awarded a fee reduction of AUD$20,000 over the first 2 semesters.
  • The bursary will be provided in two equal instalments: AUD$10,000 reduction in the first semester of study fees and AUD$10,000 in the second semester of study fees. The second instalment will be due provided you pass all subjects in your first semester of study and abide by University rules and policies.
  • Students who receive any other scholarships are not eligible for the GEMS Scholarship.

Following the scholarship application closing date, Bond will select the successful applicant on a competitive, merit-based process.

This will include review of each applicant’s academic achievement as demonstrated by their academic results from their home country qualification and as well as a review of the Summary of Achievements provided as evidence of community and leadership involvement.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

The successful applicant will be notified of the outcome within a month of the scholarship closing date.

Upon completion of the Bond University Online Study Application form, eligible students can apply for this bursary via the GEMS Scholarship Application Form (PDF). The form must be completed in full and returned to [email protected] by Sunday, 12 June, 2022.
