Research interests

Prior to commencing at Bond, I taught in the Faculty of Law at the Australian University in Canberra from 2000-2007, as well as James Cook University. I am  a law graduate of the University of Queensland, where I graduated with First Class honours and a University Medal. I obtained my Doctorate from the ANU.

I am interested in most facets of private law, encompassing the core subject areas of Torts, Contracts and Equity and Trusts, as well as Remedies and Restitution.

My Doctoral thesis was on Restitution and unjust enrichment theory. The focus of previous research includes Torts law, with a particular interest in personal injuries in the course of recreational activities. This was also the focus of an ARC-Linkage funded inter-disciplinary project co-funded by Fitness Australia, of which I was one of 5 Chief Investigators. I am current editor of the Torts Law Journal.

My current research focus is on the liability of accessories in private law, which research is taking the form of a co-authored book, due to be published next year. There is at present no scholarly work that looks at this topic across all areas of private law.
