Bond opens doors at Twilight Open Day

Experience university in a whole new light when Bond University throws open its doors to thousands of prospective students for its Twilight Open Day on Saturday, July 23.

The annual Open Day is a chance for school-leavers, parents and mature-age applicants to discover all that Bond has to offer, and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere as the university comes alive at twilight with live music, street food and a fireworks display.

Aspiring students will have the chance to get a true feel for life on campus, and speak with current students and world-class lecturers from all faculties and schools about Bond's innovative study programs - spanning entrepreneurship, environmental science, physiotherapy and beyond.

The Bond Business School will host an Innovation Workshop, where aspiring entrepreneurs can learn how to turn their big ideas into commercial reality. Budding actuaries and financiers can 'discover the power of data' in Bond's Macquarie Trading Room, home to the largest number of Bloomberg terminals of any institution in Australia.

See the justice system in action at the Faculty of Law, where prospective lawyers can witness mock trials and criminal sentencing in Bond's state-of-the-art courtrooms.

The Faculty of Society &Design will put its games and multimedia hub on show, with guests able to see 3D printing in action and experience virtual reality with the 'Oculus Rift' headset. Get a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the award-winning Abedian School of Architecture, or take the Film and Television Studio Tour where students can try their hand at on-camera news reading.

The Faculty of Health Sciences & Medicine will be inviting guests to visit the Anatomy Lab for the opportunity to explore the tissues and organs of the human body, see simulated medicine in action in the Hospital Room, or test out the 'glow in the dark' experiments in the science tent.

Bond University’s Twilight Open Day starts at 2pm on Saturday, July 23, with campus tours departing every 30 minutes. The Live at Bond music series kicks off in the ADCO Amphitheatre from 2.45pm with headline act Sunset City set to take the stage at 6.15pm, followed by a fireworks display at 8.00pm.

Open Day and Live at Bond are free, all ages events. For more information, visit bond.edu.au/openday
