About the position

Bond University’s Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine has a multi-disciplinary base across a range of programs including Medicine, Biomedical and Health Sciences, Nutrition and Dietetic Practice, Exercise and Sports Science, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. The University and the Faculty recognise the importance of all these students developing an understanding of First Nations health including a depth of understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for an Assistant Professor (First Nations Health) position. With the leadership of the Professor of First Nations Health this position will contribute to curriculum development, assessment, teaching, research and service within the faculty including a focus on First Nations Health.

About the person:

To be considered for this position you will possess a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Candidates will have a developing track record of effective teaching, research and academic administration within the higher education sector in a First Nations health and education context.

Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work in teams with academics from multiple disciplines is essential.

To perform this role it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.

Remuneration range for this appointment is $117 334 – 139 161 plus 9.5% superannuation per annum. Salary sacrificing options may be available.
