About the position
Reporting to the General Manager – Financial Services, this position will be responsible for the management of the payroll activity for the University. This will include managing the timely and accurate processing of payrolls, salary packaging, reconciliations, journals, response to audits and providing key management information. The role will also be responsible for the Ascender system administration as well as identifying, planning and implementing system functionality improvements.
As Payroll Supervisor, you will provide advice on payroll matters to senior and line management, as well as managing the integration of the payroll function with the accounting area and with Human Resources.
- About the person:
To be considered for this appointment you will have extensive experience in payroll administration as well as significant experience in managing staff. Demonstrated experience in managing a corporate payroll system (including experience in systems administration), experience with report extraction software, proven financial reconciliation skills, a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory framework, policies, procedures and awards applicable to a university payroll function and the ability to provide advice on these matters is essential.
Previous experience using Kronos and/ or Ascender Pay will be an advantage.

The salary range for this appointment is $83 121 - $91 276 per annuum plus 9.5% superannuation, negotiable on skills and experience
