About the position
The Office of Engagement supports the University’s advancement, through managing its reputation and focusing on philanthropic, development and fundraising efforts. It is committed to building its alumni and donor engagement strategies, and strengthening connections with stakeholders including business leaders, major corporations and organisations.
The General Manager, Development and Fundraising will focus on the University’s fundraising activities, with a view to significantly grow the University’s philanthropic income sources and its endowment fund. Reporting directly to the Vice President Engagement, this role will be responsible for developing the philanthropic framework and culture across the University and implementing the processes necessary to underpin a fundraising and development strategy to deliver on targets.
The General Manager, Development and Fundraising, using Raiser’s Edge, will manage the University’s portfolio of relationships with individuals, alumni, corporates, trusts and foundations.
- About the person:
The successful candidate will be a higher education advancement professional with strong technical fundraising knowledge who can deliver tangible results in this diverse and exciting role. They must have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, along with the ability to manage a small team. They will have the capacity to plan and think strategically to ensure alignment with the overall objectives of the University. Soliciting support, asking for donations, and preparing bids and cases for support will be required in this position.
