About the position

The Grants Coordinator is a significant role in Research Services, providing oversight of post-award contract and financial management. The role works closely with Finance and Legal areas to provide a timely and quality service to our academics and research students.

Reporting to the Director of Research, the Grants Coordinator (Post Award) undertakes contract review for all research contracts from approval, contracting, operational and close out.  The role is supported by a Research Finance Officer and a Grants Administrator. The Grants Coordinator (Post Award) works closely with the Grants Coordinator (Pre-Award) to ensure seamless handling of successful applications.

In conjunction with the Legal Officer, the Grants Coordinator (Post Award) coordinates patent matters for the University to ensure compliance with deadlines.

About the person:

To be considered for this role candidates will possess a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline coupled with experience working in a research grants environment, within the tertiary education sector.

The role would suit someone with legal or paralegal background and experience in a Legal Office or Research Office. Significant written communication, problem solving, contract management and financial interpretation skills are key to this role, as is exceptional time management skills. Candidates should be able to align contractual agreements, funding guidelines and financial best practice to achieve quality outcomes.

Experience using Research Management and/ or contract management systems will be a distinct advantage.

Remuneration for the appointment will commence at $82,695 plus 17.5% superannuation p.a.
