Description

Climate Law in Context is an elective subject in undergraduate programs offered by the Faculty of Law. This introductory level law subject investigates the scientific, regulatory, philosophical and cultural contexts of the law applying to climate change and its implications. This subject prepares students for more advanced examinations of climate change and climate law in other subjects.

Learning outcomes

  1. Demonstrate introductory level knowledge of climate law and its scientific, regulatory, philosophical and cultural contexts.
  2. Demonstrate introductory level research, reasoning, and communication skills in the application of the above knowledge to particular climate change related issues.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to apply the above knowledge and skills to plan and execute a substantial research project.

Assumed knowledge:

Assumed knowledge is the minimum level of knowledge of a subject area that students are assumed to have acquired through previous study. It is the responsibility of students to ensure they meet the assumed knowledge expectations of the subject. Students who do not possess this prior knowledge are strongly recommended against enrolling and do so at their own risk. No concessions will be made for students’ lack of prior knowledge.
