Description
Videogames are a major form of creative expression in the digital age, as well as one of the most significant forms of contemporary popular entertainment. This subject introduces future media professionals to the rapidly evolving variety of commercial and independent videogames as an interactive art form by focussing on game design, style, storytelling and genre.
Students will play and consider a selection of the greatest games ever made to discover videogames’ inherent characteristics of challenge, experimentation, innovation, curiosity and pleasure. Through these experiences, students are able to explore the process of creativity and develop an understanding of their own creative impulse.
