Research interests

I am a Professor of Management at Bond University and Chair of the highly engaging and innovatively designed annual international Research in Management Learning and Education (RMLE) Unconference (www.rmle.org).

Organisational Behaviour and Persuasion & Negotiation are my two primary teaching areas. I am an advocate and practitioner for experiential education and, as such, have been creating active and engaging and learning and teaching experiences at the undergraduate, MBA and EMBA levels for over thirty years. My pedagogical passion is in the area of service-learning. I am a nationally and internationally recognised service-learning practitioner and author and have served as guest editor for special issues on service-learning in the Academy of Management Learning & Education, the Journal of Management Education, the International Journal of Case Method Research & Application and the International Journal of Organizational Analysis.

I have published my work in leading academic journals including the Journal of Business Ethics,Organization, Management Learning, the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Management Inquiry and the Journal of Management Education. I am honoured to have been awarded numerous learning and teaching awards including an Australian Learning and Teaching Council Award for Teaching Excellence (awarded to only three educators nationally in a field per year) and multiple Carrick Citations for Outstanding contribution to Student Learning, Bond University Vice-Chancellors Quality Awards, Executive Dean’s List teaching awards and international scholarly reviewing and teaching awards.

After eleven years on disability leave in treatment for cancer, I am excited to have officially rejoined the Bond Business School as of August, 2022. My passion and advocacy for experiential education and a fierce commitment to support the highest levels of learning for my students remain. I am expanding my research portfolio to include concepts related to care and wellbeing in organisations, and am partnering with research scholar colleagues who are actively teaching through war in Ukraine to tell their stories of resilience.
