Amanda Coulthard

Professional biography

Amanda holds the degrees of Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Queensland and a Master of Laws from Bond University. She has also undertaken law courses at the University of Leiden, Netherlands and the European University Institute, Fiesole, Italy.

Amanda was admitted to practice as a Solicitor in 1982. She has worked with law firms in both Brisbane and London and is presently part-time Special Counsel with Franklin Athanasellis, specialising in workplace relations. In 2008 Amanda was accredited by the Queensland Law Society as a Workplace Relations Specialist. She also serves as Chair of the Queensland Law Society’s Workplace Relations Accreditation Committee and is a member of the Society’s Industrial Law Committee.

Amanda joined the law school at Bond University in 1991. She has taught across a wide range of subjects with particular focus on Administrative Law, Constitutional Law and the elective subject Employment and Workplace Relations Law, which she introduced into the curriculum in 1995.

In her area of research interest, employment and workplace relations law, Amanda has published a number of articles and chapters in books and is a regular speaker at academic and industry conferences both in Australia and overseas.

She is also a founding committee member of the Australian Labour Law Association and a co-editor of the case notes section of the Australian Journal of Labour Law.
