4D-BIM (Schedule Optimisation)

Enhance your Building Information Modelling (BIM) knowledge with 4D-BIM (Schedule Optimisation).

This microcredential addresses schedule preparation and management using BIM-related Lean Construction and Integrated Project Delivery techniques. It is taught in a highly interactive environment and is dedicated to interrogating aspects of BIM IT platforms in a manner that informs learners how to utilise available BIM information better.

Learners will also learn how to prepare useful project schedules that align with and include all aspects of the project phases as defined by the buildingSMART Australasia BIM framework. The subject offers students the opportunity to prepare and refine a project schedule that aligns with the BIM framework phases, and respects Lean approaches to construction.

4D-BIM (Schedule Optimisation) is one of twelve specialised BIM microcredentials available.  

Meet your course instructor

Pieter Rautenbach

With over 15 years of experience, Pieter’s core skills include deep knowledge of planning, risk management, estimating, BIM / DE, agile project management, and contract management on major projects and portfolios for both contractors and owner organisations. His industry experience spans from developing concept and feasibility studies to commissioning and project handover in the traditional construction, infrastructure and resource industries.

    • Successfully completing the course will equip participants with a microcredential digital certificate.
    • This microcredential aligns with the 5-credit point subject, 4D-BIM (Schedule Optimisation) (SSUD-304), in the Master of Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery. The microcredential may qualify for credit towards a Bond University program.
  • This microcredential is aimed at professionals in architecture, project management, construction, valuation and property development, city planning or related fields with an interest in developing skills in schedule preparation and management using BIM-related Lean Construction and Integrated Project Delivery techniques.

    Participants must have a basic understanding of Building Information Modelling concepts. Participants require basic skills in architecture, construction or a related field, or experience in the building or construction industries.
