About this microcredential

Start your Building Information Modelling (BIM) journey and learn about the core principles of BIM, Lean Construction and Integrated Project Delivery.

The course introduces participants to the fundamental principles of Lean Construction and Integrated Project Delivery and provides a brief introduction to the BIM framework adopted by buildingSMART Australasia.

Delivered in a highly interactive environment, the course covers BIM principles in a manner that equips students to sit for the buildingSMART International endorsed individual assessment of knowledge-based BIM learning.

The Foundations of Intelligent Construction (OpenBIM) is one of four specialised microcredentials available. 

WHAT ARE THE KEY BENEFITS?

  1. Delivered by industry experts, this course is delivered over a three (3) day on-campus workshop.
     
  2. On-campus participants will be provided with an exclusive welcome session and tour of the campus prior to commencing the first workshop, with access granted to all on-campus facilities, including the library and Sports Centre.
     
  3. Successfully completing the course will equip participants with a microcredential digital certificate.
     
  4. This microcredential aligns with the 5-credit point subject, Foundations of Intelligent Construction (SSUD-301), in the Master of Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery. The microcredential may qualify for credit towards a Bond University Program.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?

This microcredential is aimed at professionals in architecture, project management, construction, valuation and property development, city planning or related fields with an interest in gaining a foundational understanding of Building Information Modelling concepts.

Assumed Knowledge*
Participants require basic skills in architecture, construction or a related field; or experience in the building, construction industry.

*Assumed knowledge is the minimum level of knowledge of a subject area that students are assumed to have acquired through previous study. It is the responsibility of students to ensure they meet the assumed knowledge expectations of the subject. Students who do not possess this prior knowledge are strongly recommended against enrolling and do so at their own risk. No concessions will be made for students’ lack of prior knowledge.

COST

The total cost of this microcredential is $2,863 for students commencing in September 2021. This cost includes access to all students services and facilities on-campus, including the library, computer labs and Sports Centre.
