Bond celebrates the diversity of our community, because we believe that a rich variety of voices and ideas makes Bond a dynamic place to learn and teach. Bond has students and staff from over 90 countries.
Bond works with our students, staff, and partners to promote a culturally inclusive environment. The University is proud of our rich diversity and the thousands of international students that we have on campus both as full-time students, exchange students and Study Abroad participants every year. Bond supports student run cultural clubs that provide a platform for cultural exchange to enrich the student experience on campus.
Bond is also committed to ensuring that our graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to be highly successful and global leaders of the future. Accordingly, the University has identified Graduate Attributes that are embedded into core subjects and within all undergraduate programs of the University. One of the three Graduate Attributes is for our graduates to be Global Citizens which emphases inclusiveness and cultural capability.
Bond University genuinely treats all students with the same level of consideration, empathy and duty of care including those who may be lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex or questioning (LGBTIQ). We strive to provide a learning environment that is safe and supportive, and we actively encourage all students to understand and respect individuality and diversity.
Bond University is a member of ACON's Pride in Diversity group that works toward inclusion for people of diverse sexualities and genders. ACON is a fiercely proud community organisation whose priority is the health and safety of those they engage with. Membership includes access to a large resource collection as well as support programs, training, and consulting.
The Bond University Ally network provides support to LGBTIQ staff and students. Members of the Ally network act as a point of contact for staff and students to discuss LGBTIQ issues and concerns. Bond Pride Alliance is a student group that provides support and awareness surrounding LGBTIQ + issues within and around Bond University.
Bond will measure student success in cultural diversity through:
- Creating a timetable of activities across the calendar year celebrating the diversity of the Bond community, and encouraging attendance of staff and students.
