Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science
Duration: 2 years full-time (3 semesters per year) Flexible part-time options are available for domestic students.
The Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science is designed to prepare students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in health, fitness and athletic performance. The program will give you an appropriate understanding of basic and applied sciences utilised in various contexts including healthy ageing, chronic disease prevention, health promotion and elite sport performance.
You will study anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, motor learning and control, exercise and sport psychology as well as exercise prescription and planning.
The Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science provides a structured pathway to postgraduate study in physiotherapy or sports science.
Work Experience & Internships
The Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science features a minimum of 140 hours of practical experience in a variety of sport, exercise or healthcare environments. This compulsory practicum provides valuable hands-on work placement experience before career commencement. Many graduates have been offered work based on their excellent practical performance.

The Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science will provide you with the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies in sports science and physiotherapy, as well as broader sporting and allied health programs. You may also wish to pursue higher degree qualifications by research.
The Bachelor of Exercise & Sports Science is one of the preferred pathways for entry into Bond University’s postgraduate programs. Successful completion of this degree guarantees graduates an interview for the following programs:
- Doctor of Physiotherapy
- Master of Sports Science
As entry into these programs are highly competitive, an offer will be dependent on a candidate’s final GPA and interview outcomes.
The Bachelor of Exercise & Sports Science produces graduates with a strong understanding of exercise science and human biology who are well placed to seek employment in a range of careers that may include:

Students are primarily located at the Bond Institute of Health and Sport which they share with academic staff and Higher Degree Research students from the nutrition and dietetic, physiotherapy and sports science disciplines. Located within the Cbus Super Stadium sporting precinct at Robina, the Institute houses specialist sports science laboratories which are equipped with the latest exercise training and assessment equipment.
You will have extensive access to all equipment used in research to deliver a wide range of athlete testing and performance analysis methodologies that are integrated into the clinical and non-clinical environment. You will also have access to extensive biochemistry resources to measure the exercise response in high performance
