Pharmacies & Supplementary Medicine - Prof Paul Glasziou

The country's peak medical body says it has great concerns about a deal which will see pharmacists prompted to recommend supplementary medicines to consumers. The Pharmacy Guild of Australia has struck an agreement with the company Blackmores to promote the company's products with certain prescription drugs. The Australian Medical Association says it appears commercial interests are being put ahead of patients' needs and doctors should know. They've previously been accused of doing the same.

Professor Paul Glaziou, Director of  the Centre for Research in Evidence based practice discusses the issue on ABC (28 Sept 2011).
